Maybe maybe if the weather is all right. So guys, this is a first look at this hanger that we built. It's in a completely top secret location. You'll never be able to find out where this is.

I Don't care if you're in the CIA this hanger, you'll never find the location of it. Anyway, this has been a project that we have been working on. Check out the Freedom Aviation logo we added here on the floor. Those are very nerdy at the moment.

Uh, we got about three quarters of the lighting done. We're just finishing up some of the lighting. This is the the Cubs new home and you know, maybe some other cool stuff. Probably bring the Dale truck over here some of the more collectible items and slap them in here.

Yeah, the Cub literally almost died a horrible death in a windstorm. Luckily Saved By Zach here. being outside for two months you know it was not a good situation. But the hangar is finally done.

That's a door. That's a big door. I Regret not building the hangar and then buying the Cub because the Cubs Sitting outside for two months had way more wear and tear on it than I thought. but Sam has brought it back anyway.

We're gonna get this door greased and then we'll get back with you because we got some cool stuff for the Cub today. Oh, on the more important side of things today, we have what would be referred to as a smoke system for the Cub. We have the ability to draw pictures in the sky. you know, write love messages to your wife or draw a giant Freedom Factory sign.

All because we have now obtained this. This is a smoke system that we are going to put in the cup. Have you ever seen an airplane make much smoke? It's because it has just a pump system like this inside it that you fill up with this special oil which you know I Gotta I got a five? You know somewhere? This is like the official stuff I Think you can use just paraffin oil? Oh that's 99. that's the nozzle ride in the exhaust.

There's 99 jet. Yeah, all we're doing is putting this jet in the header pipe and then we're filling this up with oil from here. And in theory the Cubs should have a ton of smoke rolling out of the exhaust. I Might buy this kit for my race car.

Cool the guy in the other lane because it burns off so fast. It's so thin it burns immediately with just a little bit of exhaust gas. I've always wondered how they do this I Had no idea until I looked it up. You want to take the airplane apart at all? I mean you got to give it powered ground and put the nozzle on the header.

We're gonna get started on this today. I Also got this transfer pump. We're putting it in the plane. no just trying to keep it simple.

Look at that dude. Keep it simple. You know how I like to spill stuff without funnels? Yeah, but you know what? I'll just upgrade now. Well we got to get this giant palette opened up because Mike Katie Who is the guy that made it all possible for us to get this carbon? Cub Sent me a freaking sweet little tug to pull the carbon cover out.

So check this unit out! Yeah, some might say this is even the best tug you can get. I've heard that these are the best tugs on the market. Oh it looks like a Segway Wow look at that beautiful unit. Dude, it looks like a modified Segway Let me see this thing.

Well all right. Oh, the lawn with this paparooski dude off-roading this thing. day one. I Want to grab it right by the wheel? Yeah, we stick right by the wheel.

So I think you just gotta yeah set your once you get it alive in there. Oh yeah, holy crap. that's pretty slick. It's so easy.

This thing has a lot of power. Pretty neat dude. Big shout out to Mike Petey and Mark Petey We got the best tug dude we got. We got all the dialed in stuff for the Cubs.

We'll pull it in one sec, show you where we're gonna put the smoke kit we talked to Mike Patty Because he's installed these before. he gave us a complete rundown on what to do, what not to do, where to put it and then we're gonna have my buddy who is a licensed A P, come by make sure everything's dialed in. then we're gonna go rip it just right. Sam Bring the Supra if it ever sees daylight again.

Yeah! Freedom Aviation Oh, he's on his second joint. Went through a whole tube of Grease already. So if you guys didn't know, there's a little cargo door in these things. And since we're adding weight and this thing has a forward CG if you're riding by yourself, we're gonna try and add some weight to the back.

Help it get the nose up a little better for competition. Anyway, so what we've been thinking: Nice flat head. Yeah, this is all carbons. There's already some scratch and dents in here from the previous owner.

Check that out, that's pretty decent. Good. that's storage. That's where the nitrous bottle will go one day, one day.

So the time with Ty and Zach and Mike and we're gonna put it basically right there. but you can't impede on any of these cable. Stables Yeah, that would be not good. Yeah, we gotta get it really secure.

You know it obviously weighs a good bit, especially with a couple gallons of oil in it. So we're gonna get that nice and secure. Get it wired up, then go test it. So what's that like? Three gallons? Yeah, three gallons.

How old would that last? Did they say don't know I Have no idea I mean it's only a single nozzle system I Know some guys do several nozzles and you can really choose some spot. I did single now so it should last a while so we may be adding a nozzle in the future. Yeah, you never know. We'll see.

All right guys. We got the cowlings off of carbon Cub It was pretty easy. Crazy. It's all Phillips head screws which I don't understand how they don't come loose.

Check out the cowling. Incredibly light. This is why the carbon cube is so cool versus you know, just a standard Cub Like this thing is probably a total of 10. Pounds It's like picking up an empty cardboard box.

It's kind of weird because when you look at it, you need to be heavy and then it's just nothing. So we've got the calling off of the carbon tub. You can see this Titan Io340 in here. Just a four cylinder posing piston engine.

Well, here's what we're gonna do. You got your Egts right here. We're going to be putting this little nozzle guy. We're just gonna put it about two inches lower than that EGT right there.

There's a lot of guys who say different things. I've called several friends about it Mike Patty Just recently put one of these systems on that Red Bull plane that landed in Dubai He recommended putting it right there because it's far enough that it won't ruin your EGT but it's also as close as it can be to the heat, which is going to give you the best smoke you know? We kind of looked around. the way to put it, seems like this primary doesn't really have any other use. You know, you've got these heaters on the other one.

so this primary is wide open I'm thinking we're just gonna put it right there and then we'll start putting it back together. We have this now secured with several straps and then we riveted in a border around it so it can't move. This thing's not going anywhere. That's where you're putting her bud.

Yep, the old smoke screened. That's where she's going. That's where it'll spray in the oils. It's a little scary working on a plane, but we are within our legal rights to do what we are doing and we're having it checked off.

Drive Toast with a header pipe off? Yeah. I Mean luckily we're not messing with anything engine internally, we're just putting a little hole in the header pipe and this kit is for an experimental plane just like this. So all right. Bud Nice and easy.

Don't scratch that was close. that was close but it didn't touch nice. Precision Fit right there I mean come on man. all right she's together all right guys.

As you can see, starting tub is back together. we had bolt some stuff back up. we got it all dialed in, we got everything looked over and we did pressure test the system but we gotta put some fluid in there before we can really give it a rip so come over Yonder see everything's just as normal put back together. We got the container back here for the smoke all dialed in but we got to put some fluid in it.

We got this handy dandy filler daily Whopper right here safe. the booster pump. Okay, we're going 18 volts on this unit. oh God we're gonna fill this up all right so we'll put the cap on it and on the side of this pump there is a basically a little valve, a little finger valve.

you just turn it up or down and then you can control how much fluid goes into our one nozzle we have up there and I talked to Mike Patty about it a bunch and he was like you literally just got to stand there. you got strap it to your truck, go wide open throttle and then blip it, hold it for a second, see what it looks like and if there's a bunch of oil on the ground, you have too much feeling, he's like it should really just burn it all and you should have a nice clean burn so we're gonna have to kind of adjust that. So we're gonna hook it to the truck right now and hit that button for the first time. see what happens? All right Bud! The Old Smoke Shop.

This has been a dream of my life. when you're a kid and you see a plain smoke like this I Always I Always thought it was just like a smoke machine I Didn't realize they just used the engine exhaust to burn it. Genius! And here we are. Should: I just pull it up and just bloop it and make sure it's even doing it.

Okay, then we'll hook it to the truck. Oh yeah dude. oh yeah oh it wants more. Oh yeah dude.

Well we're gonna strive to my truck because I can't really rev it up or it'll all right and try. And yeah, that's right. So let's hook it to the truck, do it the proper way and you know we gotta tune it for a wide open. Yeah, for sure wide open.

Yeah, right now. yeah, she needs more juice. No right now she's full juicing. Well, it wasn't a lot of RPM yeah we needed.

we need to hook down so we can give her some salt, but there's really no oil. There's a little puddle back there. All right. took it on the ball.

We'll just go through the freaking hits all the way. Why cheap out now you know. hey. The Hanger will never rush.

You gotta double mod it I'm gonna just Loop it right back to the truck. This is the best couple hundred dollar mod you could do to an airplane. It's probably one of the only couple hundred dollars, all right, So you'll change it, give me a thumbs up, and then walk away. I'll go up the wide open.

try it. Okay, all right here we go. all carving cup smoke test s that's a lot of smoke. The shop is filled with smoke right now.

First time I went to go check if you were to see where that first rip. it was nozzle wide open when you were. Full Throttle Yeah, cut back an idle back and I left a puddle on the ground and a half in. It's got the same smoke fellow, but no puddle on the ground.

Oh perfect. So it's it's now all right. I'm gonna rip it. you better give it a Chooch Oh holy crap.

Yep we got some serious smoke in the shop find. The Sweet Spot Okay, cool, all right am I doing an idol? Definitely more than anticipated. Oh oh my gosh Dude. Oh my gosh, All right.

It would have to be a perfect day. Holy crap, that's a whole new Aviation Challenge I Was trying not to let it be too much of a distraction. It's a huge distraction. yeah, because you want to look and all that.

So I was like you know what? this is a great day I'm just gonna land and I can go practice it some more on my own but what a freaking success! Oh it looked it was good. It was really good. Yeah it was thick. We were wondering if maybe if altitude would help.

just maybe a little cooler or you know, not evaporated as fast. or maybe just way too windy. I think I think it just blows away right now it was so turbulent that was my indication like the air has got to be moving around. The lights was like all right I'm just going to return to base Dude what a success! So cool! What a great mom! What a great mod you know I Was just thinking when I was flying there.

For a split second the fact that we were doing airplane content blows my mind and I just want to give a special thanks to all you guys who watch because things we're out here doing are incredible.
