Unfortunately after a HUGE series of delays we did not get Ruby qualified for race day. The pinion break was a huge setback caused by a faulty wire. Tough Break, we gotta get her figured out! Fortunately Mullet is qualified 10th in the TX2K street car shoot out class.

Hey guys, today's video is sponsored by raycon. Today's been a real struggle bust of a day for me somehow. I left my raycon earbuds at home and driving down the road, the tower for 14 hours and finally in texas, i had 186 cords laid across my computer. I had to use my cheap ported headphones jack stands freaking hitting every pothole on the interstate ever since my traditional headphones are falling out of my ears and i'm really missing my raycons today.

As you guys know, raycon makes high quality wireless bluetooth earbuds. Not only do they look and sound amazing, the price is unbeatable, the earbuds have eight hours of play time and a 32 hour battery life with the charging case. Not only does the charging case protect them, it also charges the earbuds. One thing i really like about the raycon earbuds is those gel tips to lock them in my ear, whether i'm working out cruising down the road riding in an airplane, they never shake.

Out of my head and today guys raycon is offering you guys, 15 off by just visiting by raycon.com cletus mcfarland. The link is in the description below i'm really missing mine right now, probably gon na have to get a second pair and just leave them in the toddler home thanks to raycon for sponsoring today's video. Let's get to the live action. Hell yeah brother you're on the please be far on youtube channel.

We got mullet out here this morning, sam drinking his morning, coke. We had a big backfire yesterday on the one two shifts the car spun and hit limiter and backfired. So i'm gon na pull the valve, covers and check the valves, real, quick and make sure they're lashed out the same, make sure we didn't hurt anything all right. We got her buttoned.

All up valves were good, so we got her fueled up check the oil trans, fluid getting tire pressures ready, got about 20 minutes and we should be able to put it in the staging lanes and see what it'll do sam you couldn't help yourself all right guys. It's a new day we got round two and three qualifying. Today we got the cars ready. We checked the valve lash on mullet.

All's good. We just got to try to not spend the empires today should be no problem. We teamed her up a little bit, but you know a couple: cars went sixes last night, so we really got ta get back to that spot. Yeah our boy victor went a six in the supra that other guy went to 701.

way. It's shaping up ruby's, going to have to really go about an 8-0 to stay in the slower class. We're going to lift the 16th qualifier right now is 809. So we really want ruby in the second fastest class, all right guys heading up round one.

Hopefully we can make a good lick when they're only qualified, they're running way behind there's a bunch of uh, crazy acts and things like that. But uh we get one we get one. We got ta make it work here we go. We got all the freedom right here - oh seven, 776 at 151, not bad! Well, damn i don't know what the hell happened there, but i had to stay in it.
So we could get a qualifying run. I basically just feathered the throttle to get it to stop doing that and kept going. I think we left hard enough that we probably still qualify in the fast class dude left like a rocket. I mean that was way faster than i thought.

Nate wanted it to be, that was badass, but it did not sound good up top yeah. We still got 776 out of that 121. 60 foot 473 in the eighth at 153, and then it was i was out of it before the hand. It was doing that weird thing you can hear it, i'm sure you guys can hear it on camera wow, the guy next to me, with 208 jesus.

We got james if oh we're gon na get him push back all right, so you guys saw ruby tried to bump in shut up um. I think so. She didn't make it off the line. I don't know yeah.

It was pop up a pop and then stopped backwards. What happened? He let off the button and didn't go was getting on the brake. It did that sputter thing again. Oh the engine did was you know, trans brake, yeah floored, it was building boost.

Everything was good. It was on the two-step it did the cost thing again and then you know started building boost again, i'm going to go bump in the second one and go bump in. I just want to boom. So i just shut it off.

Oh so something in the driveline bro yeah, oh damn i mean this is in parker now so potentially axles are potentially uh yeah. I think it might be the drive shaft yeah well hunted down, not the axles. You can see the rpms were unhappy up high. I really tried to stay in it to the age, but it was riding good, dude yeah.

It left good. It was like it was losing the bank all right. Okay, you get a slipper now yeah. What did it? 60? Foot? 121.

Oh nice yeah! That's pretty good! Let me get the slip yeah 121 60 foot with a 473 in the 8th 153, but i was out of it right before the end of the night yeah. So let's figure out pull the egt's fuel pressure because it looked, i mean it was really really lean. See the guy went 208. Next to me.

Look at his back cap. I mean dude. We were, i mean, that's the heat of the day dude. They would have done exactly what i was wanting to do.

Yeah yeah, that only was 720 for sure all right. Let's figure this out all right guys, we figured it out. We had uh real low fuel pressure, dude good thing i got out of it yeah it was good. I'm willing to bet the source is off of the uh fuel pressure regulator.

Now it's right here. It's on there, this one came out guys so this uh. This is what gives our fuel pressure regulator its source so that i can up the fuel pressure with boost and it came off so we did not have enough fuel pressure to make the run. What's the deal, dude either broke the input on the trans trans itself or the pinion on the dip somewhere along those lines, converters still spins with the starters.

That's not the torque tube axles still spin the diff. Damn we've never ever broken that trans and diff, just like neighbor. It owes us nothing. Ah, it owed me something this weekend, though guys we got super lean on that.
If i stayed in it any longer, i mean it very well could have just i mean it. Would have exploded, i don't know yeah. We would have melted this pull through pistons, so we're gon na check all the plugs, but you can see the fuel pressure never rose, it's this pink line. It never rose like.

If you make 40 pounds of boost, then it would have been 100 psi. I feel pressure, but it only made 60 psi of fuel pressure because that source was off. Yes, all these little things, man yesterday in our little hundred foot rip, we were 106 or 107 psi pressure. So that's one of the things you tuned for on the map is your fuel pressure is higher.

So that's how your map is, there's so many things going on with these freaking cars. So we got that fixed and i mean the tune-up worked. So we know at least we got to go out pretty far dude we went 120-160, so we left on 12. 12.

00., it's locked down at 12 12 pounds and about 3 800.. I mean it was riding out good, so it did exactly what it was supposed to do and then it ran out of fuel so yeah. So at least we got that data. That's all that really matters yeah we got heat of the day tune up.

We can work off that a little bit a little bit in the middle a little bit here and there that ramp is pretty soft. You know that car that went a 7-0 went down. Uh, i don't know, i just saw him go by all right, so you guys remember that issue we had with ruby the other day. It blew right past.

The two-step didn't ever turn on all right guys. So the gist of everything that happened here is the guy. In the left, lane double bulb, jack stand, so jackson pulls in kind of hears, the other guy popping and banging, and when james went to bump in ruby was making 6200 rpm pounds of boost, and when you hit the bump button, it just exploded the transmission. So just a combination of a bunch of bs happening, like the reason ruby's two-step didn't turn on, is because some wire failed in between the trans brake button and the computer.

So the two-step didn't turn on she just blew through the converter, made a ton of boost and just wrecked the transmission. So it's just i mean you literally can't make that up yeah everyone liked when we did wheelies and still made passes, but all right we got it. We got ta. Make something happen, though.

If i don't, i don't know what it is, and i don't wan na tell you guys that, like i, we do suck sometimes and this stuff happens, but like this, these struggles happen. Everybody just seems to always have it, though. That's when we're on race day, like we tested the car made it go down, perfect, perfect, perfect done boom we're good to go, and then we come to the track and face problems and destroy the transmission. We made one like decent change with the gear change, but we just solved that we went down and then we ended up with one vacuum line.
Just just hanging not connected, and hopefully the plugs are good and we can uh continue on so once while it goes off we'll take a look at the plugs and then we'll hope that we can make another run today i was just sitting over there thinking. You know what caused this right didn't test our two step: you're right. We did not get up this morning and test either of our two steps waiting around and we didn't touch the single two step. Damn it, it literally got us again.

It got both of us. I know son of a biscuit, our own rule and we break it every day. Oh brother, look at that sam. You got your power glide.

Ah, not the input that sucks output. Maybe oh look at that. Okay, it's got that left edge. That's our problems right here! Look at it broke right there, oh completely, we need a gear set like a 9-inch gear set.

Damn we only have a nine and a half inch gear set here. Damn wow transmission, strong dude frick, the friends said i got this yeah, oh, not today, all right! So we need a pinion. We need a gear set. Honestly, we need to change the gear because we, if we get like a 360 here, we might have everything all right, i'll call it uncommon, stuff, yeah, so guys racing transmissions where they fix the mystery machine.

Trans. A little while back and uh got the nine inch up here on the diff. I got the nine inch up here on the table, as you can see, broken pinion whole whole crew over here. Get it right, popping parts from their own stuff to give to us.

Yeah they're they're taking care of us here back racing rude before you know it. They do got some units up in here, though, look at that steve morrison, the blown of big block and draxer equipped with holly and rife motion sticker over there hiding on that truck. These guys know the deal hey. You know what they say test.

Your two steps always test your two steps: hey. We got a thing where we say always test your two-step. Before you run now, it's testing. So now i need to come and dance yeah.

No. Now it's dialed in we're perfect yeah we're good 12 pounds of booze. Your legs are doing about 600 rpm. You know it's perfect all right, so we got everything on the bench cleaned up here.

Going back together, got ta. Do some clearancing get the clearance riding for the new gear? A little bit bigger diameter ring view being that it's a lower gear number gear set all right so guys i come to you with some bad news. It is sunday now race day, i'm just finishing up this edit and we just got the news that ruby cannot race today, because we didn't get qualified. You know we came here expecting to get our four qualifiers and because there's been so many wrecks like these gtrs and r8s and lambos have been wrecking like crazy, and now we only got two qualifiers.
We did not get another qualifier last night, which is super unfortunate. We would have had ruby in ready to go, wouldn't been an issue. We figured everything out, we would have gone down, but we qualified with a 10-6 from james first pass and we didn't get another shot at it. So now ruby cannot race.

She did not qualify. Today, which sucks really sucks, however, on the bright side, the elko is qualified 10th in the fastest class of the streetcar class. But we know we have a tune-up that will go down so we're gon na get the car ready. We're gon na.

Take the lanes and we're gon na focus on elko and hopefully get a win today, so we'll report back to you tomorrow, thanks for watching for dale, we will freakin see you later so bye.

It seems that Rubys hood is cursed.. nothing but problems after that is installed 😂 First hit by lightning and then these problems! You have to get more cardboard and toss that hood 😁

  2. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Shace616 says:

Can't run without a hood but you can run 200mph without a chute or cage? Yeah ok seems legit. Whoever is deciding tech over at TX2k needs to have their head examined.

  3. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Domenic Derrigo says:

Those quick connect vacuum lines have always caused problems, from them splitting open due to heat or just falling out there’s got to be a better line

  4. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Tommy Ruane says:

I could be wrong, but it seems like all these Lambos and other super cars are running 200+ mph without shoots and they keep crashing when they try to get on the brakes wich not only is it just flat-out unsafe for themselves buts its pretty inconsiderate to all the other racers.

  5. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars ratrider says:

Now take her home and let Zach lose on the electic side of Ruby so the problems are over. And put the safti's back in Mullet now you have the fuel to run those.

@CleetusMcFarland sorry for the crap luck you guys always seem to have, the only positive twist I can put on it is that it teaches the rest of us to keep going to persevere over whatever obstacle is in our way, there may be trials and tribulations but the man up top gives his toughest battles to his most fierce warriors!

of all the channels i watch… Cleter… your descriptions of what went down are always epic … it went ruhruh ruhhhruh!!! and yes we did hear it… my arse was puckered for the valves!!! Even Maddie gets into it poppopppoped and stopped!!! priceless!!!

Whoever can make a reliable race car/super car will be rich. Oh ya, it's called a Honda….LUL I'm a big 90s super car fan but they are over priced crap. They do not drive well or far LOL
Must suck to put hours into testing and tuning to have a 10 cent rubber hose and adapter blow off. Why is that even an issue? it's shouldn't even happen.

Like all these part failures shouldn't happen on expensive custom equipment and cars. just my uninformed opinion.

The two points of learning that I think you can take from today: 1) vehicle security – it is totally possible that your vehicles were sabotaged so you need to implement a policy to ensure no one touches the cars without your observation of it from the moment you leave until you get home someone you trust needs to have those cars in sight. 2) You tuned down low very well and have about a third of the data for high RPM tuning so you might want to find a 1/2 mile drag strip Dr. tune em all can get more data at high gear+load+rpm.

I know what caused it.. you guys didn’t have the freedom hair cuts to start the race season… bring back the mullets and everything will be fine

  11. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars jkoll42 says:

Maybe TX2K should have a dedicated day for inexperienced blank check drivers to crash to their hearts content. 1320 could put together a sweet HD entertainment reel of all the highlights and the rest of the event days could be used for actual racers with NHRA licenses, cages and chutes to, you know……race. Obviously with hoods to be sure everyone is safe.

  12. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Matthew Serrao says:

Cleeter what is your opinion of all the high horsepower exotics allowed to run without a cage (and 3 of them crashed) but a fully caged car like ruby cannot compete without a hood

  13. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Dennis Brown says:

Those weren’t cheap headphones. Those were Bose sports and they have tabs to hold them in your ears. Come on clet.

  14. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Moisty Dab says:

The guy that ran next to cleetus is Ned Dunphy. He has a vengeance racing built viper that makes like 2,000 horsepower and he even half miles the car at shift sectors events

  15. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Brian Clarke says:

Didn’t test the two step nor do I see the lucky stone. Then again it was when I found a four leaf clover things in life just uhhh let’s just say I wish the mower got it.
