Hell yeah, brother, you're on the please before on YouTube channel. Oh, you hate to see it, You hate to see it. Where's the turbo on this thing huh? on the floor? Oh Frank Standing up. Well, we got a slightly injured engine.

We went to fire this thing up and had some water in the cylinders. So I think we might have nipped the head gasket out of it. We've been running it pretty damn hard. Yeah, has not had an easy life this last few outings.

and this is a four bolt headed engine. so this is not like what Leroy has. Yeah, yeah, so it's just. you know, one of Texas speeds recently stock blocks so it's only got four bolts, not steel.

Yeah. full weight 7 30 is that you know? 200 pounds. Yeah, we have some improvements we want to make. We're going to put a six bolt engine in this.

just like what Leroy has from Texas Speed which we'll get out in a minute and we need to put that burn down box somewhere else because yeah, everything's not enough that a factory bar underneath there that used to hold the radiator. We gotta get rid of all that we're gonna I'm gonna get rid of it because the radiator is mounted. the frame rails. maybe a little couple of bumper brackets to hold the bumper because that's all that thing does now.

Yeah. and then get rid of that. make some more room, clean things up, get rid of that air cooler, yo, ditch the intercooler, and then we're also going to go ahead and put a new engine harness in this. being that this is the original original.

Yeah. Terminator Just been having all those little issues and we've been in it now three or four times into the harness, making changes and whatnot. So we're gonna 86 that start fresh and we got a fresh Holly harness for it. Yeah, and then just you know Ruby about like 9.2.0 That's what's going to happen.

Six second: Ruby So we might even. you know by ditching the intercooler, we're gonna be ditching the big intercooler box in the back. We'll be pulling some weight out of this. We'll be putting a better engine in it.

Odds are it'll go with six when it's back. Yeah, no, it'll definitely. We'll have all the vital pieces we were kind of like missing to go sixes. Would this combo go sixes in this car? Yeah.

probably. It probably cost us three more sets of head gaskets ever figured out. Question is will it be Leroy to the sixes? That's the thing. It just depends just if we can get it together.

All right. Sounds good. Turbo Kit's good. everything else is good.

just gotta fix some stuff up and head back to the track. All right. So we're getting fired up on this car and the first thing the McFlurry needs is a solid cage. We went ahead and decided that we're gonna throw a 25-5 cage in this thing just because we know ourselves and we might shoot for an A50 But the car is definitely gonna end up going faster.

So the first thing I need to do is start measuring stuff out. So what I like to do is I figure out where I want my cage, main hoop and forward bar to go through the floor. then I drill a little tiny hole, slide a piece down in there and then I come under the car I measured a front to back and side to side I Write those notes down on my little piece of paper. Most cars are a factory offset drivetrain so they're not centered up in the car like you might think.
This car happens to be an inch and a half longer from here to the center of the tunnel than it is from there to that side. So I have to account for that because with a 25.5 car under the car, I'm going to be running a tube that runs across the length of the car right here and it needs to dip down and have clearance for the drive shaft. So I have to account for things like that. But the first step is I'm going to draw that out in CAD and then we'll start doing all of our main.

Hoops All right. And so when I say 25.5 cage. this is what I mean this is a 25.5 cage. This one has a couple tubes that aren't necessary for what we're doing.

The rules get pretty complicated, but basically what we're trying to do is make this floor right here. All right. So now that we have our floor and our main hoop, the next thing is our Dash bar and our verticals from the floor up to the dash bar. So for that I measure where I want the hoop to match up which is where that hole's been drilled right down here.

I'll go up, measure over I figured that is 25 and then I'll measure across side to side and that came out to 50 and a half. so we write that down. we throw that in cat now that I've input all of my measurements for the forward bar and the windshield bar. I Went ahead and threw some crossbars in for the door bars and that rounds out the easiest part of the cage, which is kind of the main outer structure.

These things don't really change. they have to fit in certain places and I want them as tight as I can get them. so I know that those are going to fit for the rest of the car I Like to do that once this is physically in, we're going to throw cleat in the car, make sure that the funny Car hoop will fit, measure around them, get the seat mounted, all that good stuff, and then we'll do the Funny Car Cage as we see fit. Foreign, Foreign, foreign, all right.

So we got our main hoop through the floor and now we have our Dash bar and our down bars in. Next thing I'm going to do is Bend up this tube right here and that's going to square out the cage and then we can do door bars and we can also do our harness bar. and then we can start on funny car stuff. And the last thing I'm going to do on this car is cross the uh, the doors.

That is the worst thing to have to work around. so it's the last thing I put in my way. foreign. When your cage guy is good, you don't even got one, you don't, you don't don't even see it.

But really there is a cage. it's just tucked up in the roof. my boy Ty just got them bends and Tucks and that's awesome looking really good. Ty Ga yeah and it's nice and far back.
Love that. All right. So now the cage is starting to look like something. we got our main hoop in.

we've got our Dash bar and our down bars and then we have our forward a-pillar bars in intact before I fully weld those though. I Want to go ahead and get our windshield bar that goes from there to there in and fitted and then once that's in I have enough structure that I can feel confident in welding all these joints and nothing will try to tweak or warp or put stress and pressure on anything. So I'm gonna get that going right now. Foreign.

So now that we have the main part of the cage done, the next thing I have to do is get the seats mounted in these. Cameron Johnson race cars seat brackets that I actually designed for Cameron back when I worked for them and uh we're gonna throw our cookies in, make sure we have our head clearance up here that we need and then I'm gonna make a bar that comes from here down to here and then a kidney bar will come down into here and this is the funny car hoop and the best way to show you what I'm talking about is to walk over to our Boy Leroy right here. you know nobody in the way I can show you the cage real good on this car. So what I'm talking about is this right here.

This is your funny car hoop. This tube comes up and round and entombs the driver. It keeps your head clear and safe of everything and it's just one of the safety standards you have to have for a 750 cage. so that's what we're working on next.

We will also have to do these guys some corner gussets and a roof crossover tube. So we're getting close, but we still have a lot of tubes to throw in that car. Foreign foreign cage buddy. Damn bro.

looks good. XL Cage for the tall guys? Yeah buddy, you know the deal that looks great. You know, no hesitation on just going for the whole hoop. Yeah, yeah.

I mean do it once and do it right? Yeah, you know, buy one. We all know what's going to happen. Yeah, it's getting pretty close. We: uh I've got one more bar in there.

Yeah, whatever. I can. Beautiful. When we're done with that.

I'll drop the cage while she's looking good. Okay, cool. yeah. Ty What a beast man.

What a beast. Yeah, the inside put an engine in this bad unit. That's it. That's it.

Let's put an engine done, slap it in, and go. We got some bad to the bone. Parts Showing up for this thing in just about a week, we're almost there. All right.

That about wraps up the cage. I Got all of our safety tubes in there and our head restraint bars and it is looking good. The only thing I haven't done yet is this last tube that goes up across from the funny car hoop to the diagonal. and then we are good to go foreign.
