It didn't really work so we're moving all the fab stuff into one spot up here in the front center and we're gon na keep that area just for working on cars, so the tool boxes will all be over there. This tank moves, so we got to remake some of them, don't reach anymore yep and then uh the only thing after that's a trans cooler and then i'm gon na go rip it ready to fire up yeah. You might want to you just think about doing a crash car just so this way, if it does get walled up, yeah it gets dented.

We got ta, pull this cover off and georgie. This is disrespectful to our boy. The number one we got ta have this thing dialed in by tx2k. Here's the deal guys.

We got kind of a hot mess going on with leroy the engine. You know obviously saw 62 pounds of boost, exploded, okay engines, not real savable, but good news come on over here. What you see here is a nice well put together ruby, but to be honest, that turbo is way too big for that engine. That is a 98 millimeter turf ski, and this is the aluminum block stock block four bolt headed engine, just you know, probably won't be able to keep the heads against the block.

Probably gon na kick the head gasket out to the moon pretty quickly when we turn this thing up. So several months ago, in my planning i hit up tech speed. I was like hey brother. We need an engine, that's probably capable of holding this type of boost, and they said.

Okay, we got you fam and thus the project of building, basically the same engine as what's in the el camino for ruby started, and it came in the mail just right now. Here's the deal, though ruby's running so we're gon na we're gon na do a little swap risky, come on nothing new, we're gon na. Take this back roll put it right in leroy, we're gon na see if we can blow it up. No, i'm kidding we're gon na see if we can go really freaking fast, but here's the situation come on over here see this stupid corvette transmission tunnel zoom in on that thing, lame we're done with transmissions in the back of corvettes.

Well, ruby's, fine, because power glide leroy has to get his transmission put up in the front of the car, and now we have an engine to mate it to we're like we're going to be months behind on getting leeroy back together, because we got tx2k right here In march, we couldn't think of any better way than to steal ruby's potential engine to stick it in leroy, so that we can try and get our stick shift game back together because we've been a mess lately. So, let's pop this engine, crate open and uh check it out. It's pretty bad unit. All right, leroy check it out brother brand spanking new.

We got a razor blade in this unit. It smells like horsepower all right, so we got dart block, prc heads six bolt heads, we got wysco pistons, we got the uh cali's billet rods. What a feeling right! I know just look at it that is a nice looking and then look. They wrote get some on it.

I know what up what up pope the engine builder atsp yeah we've become good friends, i mean established a real relationship, so we got obviously uh 427 built for a lot of boost. Now the good news about leroy and ruby is they don't have to run as much boost as the el camino because they weigh significantly less than that gigantic car. So this engine should get us to the goals that we have for leroy, which is a 750, and it should do it reliably, because the block is super durable, i mean dart block. We got a billet texas, speed crank.

In this thing we got the cali's billet i-beam rods, we got wiseco pistons and then the prc heads all put together by texas speed. You guys already know the deal and we're gon na swap in our boy leroy. Hopefully, the clutch and transmission combo that we're putting together will hold up, and if it does, this thing is going to go. Super super fast brand.

New oil pump brand new timing set brand new rockers cathedral heads. It's just magical that everything's going to work and our boy leroy. You know what are the odds of that. What crown whiskers are these johnson short travel lifters with the t-bar in them, so they can't spin.

Like our boy donny, this is killer dude. This is a ripper right here. Boys, let's take a gander. Cnc forwarded feel that that's real nice, i guess uh.

We should probably get our boy ty out here, because most of this work it's gon na fall on him, hey ty, when he gets out here. Just we should give you a hack i'll, be like hey. We need to talk to you if it's not the windshield cut it out, so i'm thinking we're probably gon na have to cut somewhere back into about this area. Yeah and wind it out.

I basically ordered a gto transmission for it, okay, so we we could probably find a real gto just stock transmission in the meantime and that'll show us where the shifter is going to end up and all that, since the tunnel's not really built, have a transmission in It yeah they made them nice and tight. So you have plenty of leg room, i know and uh. It doesn't work very well when you're trying to put transmission back in front and then we also think about the fact that the wiring in this car is pretty much completely cooked from years and years of abuse and that's happening. It didn't really start great because i was a part of it and you know i'm not the wiring guy.

Let's just say that, so we're probably going to pull a lot of this out, probably like that fuse can probably stay yeah. That's probably the coil packs are good yeah and then, after that, we'll probably take everything else. What are you gon na do? Are you gon na motor plate, the engine um i mean we don't have to, but it'd probably be smart too yeah i mean if we're going this far with it yeah we get some motion racers motor plates, yeah and save you a lot of time and headache On this, so if you move the motor forward to not only help center gravity but get the bell housing out of the tunnel, yeah be sure i mean we're going to motor play the mid plate. It's only going to help us we'll be able to apply more power sooner with the weight.

Yeah put the weight forward, move the motor forward, and then your bell, housing and clutch can be outside. You could have this thing apart doing clutch changes and all that stuff being accessible. What do you think about that driver kit? I mean it definitely would help you. It would definitely help need a new turbo kit.

Yeah i mean the one collector is big dog that thing's pretty fatigued. I mean it's had a lot of heat cycles as far as like headers and stuff go. They all have a life cycle and uh that one's far past its life cycle. Oh well, that's sad.

All right, so, let's motor plate and move the engine forward, that'll buy you some room, yeah it'll, definitely buy room and then with us moving weight around kind of want to stick it roughly, where we think it needs to go yeah and then probably stick it on Some scales and make sure, because we're pulling a lot of weight out of the rear of the car. Oh, that's true and moving it upside down already, so we don't want to move it too much to where we have traction problems, because it's like 70, 30 or so yeah. That's true anything about that, but you can get away with moving them a good bit. Okay, all right, we'll fire me up.

We still gon na do this stuff with the bars in the back or is it still gon na irs? I think we're gon na leave the irs in the back yeah i mean, i know, there's there's a couple straight axle kits out there and they are decent, but i think if we do like what ruby's got in her rear end, oh, i was asking because i Mean what you need to do, then, is get that nine inch chunk. I already ordered it. Are you with the mounts and everything with the mouse? I had a top mount to keep it from rotating yeah, and then we just put a drive shaft on it. So we'll do a mock-up we'll throw the engine and trans together and then we'll slide it in and see where it fits and where it doesn't fit and we'll get to cutting all right.

So, most importantly, i should probably give you a transmission yeah. We probably need a transmission before i start hacking things up too, too bad, okay, okay, i'll get to work on that all right guys. Well, that's a good old 427 joining the party. This is the top dog of them all so we'll see if we can put it through, the ringer see how it holds up and uh leroy will be back ripping shortly.
