No way and that's the end of the trip hell yeah brother you're, on the policeman for on youtube channel howdy folks, it's uh your favorite florida man we're out here today and uh the mission for today's video and the reason why we have an additional 50 gallons Of fuel on the old mountain new unit, because we are driving these boats, these 10 and 12 foot mini jet boats from the tampa bay to key west florida, which is about 240 miles following the coast, except there is a 90 mile stretch that we are facing. Where there is nowhere to get fuel there will be no land in sight, so we'll be able to follow the coast south for a while and use up most of the fuel that we're bringing and then we're going to stop in marco island, which is about the Halfway point: we're going to fill up these 50 gallons again, additional 50 gallons plus my boat holds 20. chad's boat holds 15 right off the kick so we'll have about 350 pounds actually on board and uh we're gon na try and make it all the way to Key west, which, if you're from florida or know anything about the ocean taking a boat, this small that far is just one of the dumbest things you can possibly come up with, but we just wanted to do it for fun. So what do you think chad? You ready i'm ready all right guys so, since my boat is proven to be able to carry two people, which is usually around 350 pounds, i'm gon na be holding all the fuel for both chad and i chad's got the cooler, though he's living life and the Snacks, but we're good we're, looking good feeling good we're going to the shop, do some maintenance, stuff and we'll hit the water in the morning.

Let's get to the live action, it's our safety raft chad's been in here pumping her. This is this is all else fails yeah, hopefully that's not what we come home that would really suck, and then we also have a uh epirb. If you guys know what that is a little gps thing that you can trip and it'll alert the coast guard to our location, if we're on that big 90 mile stretch - and we end up really screwed, this is our that's our option here you ready i'm ready. We ride dildo, let's go that's looking pretty prime chatty, i mean that's intercoastal, but ripping a muffin to get the day started for eight hours.

All right here we go. That's the tampa bay skyway bridge starting point so that we can truly say that we came from the tampa bay. We got a safety raft, we got two forms of gps, so we have the emergency e-perp thing in there got some cameras. We got the mini jet.

We got a bunch of fuel, we got some drinks, some food we're out till dawn. Let's go. This is the first time in salt water, for both of them, too, should be fine plug. My key in oh, it run.

Let's ride. Baby buddy be riding in eco mode. Trying to save some fuel definitely need to preserve, didn't fuel. What did it do all right go over to the beach bad start, chad's having issues hold on you know, that's the most good ever for my boat living, his best life, yeah, big jet boat guy, all right come back in one piece, both of you.

That is the plan. Okay, oh my god. Yes, chad, that he's good! Ladies and gentlemen, we ride still dawn, let's hit it baby. Let's go chop me now here we little choppier than go expected.

Let's be honest! Oh hmm, this is rough dude. We really got ta get over to that beach and see how it is all right. Let's try to get out there. Well, it's pretty rough out here.

It looks like nothing, but these boats cannot take it. Looking for chad trying to get him right behind me, it goes a little smaller and lighter, so i'm not gon na sugarcoat it it's pretty rough you're soaked. We got ta get to that beach and see if it gets better 10 years to make it might be better, hey better, though definitely getting better, that's way better. This is a lot better.

They were swelling pretty good. This is reasonable. Are you soaked? You look soaked. I'm a little wet, but my window helped me out: you think we got this dude yeah.

This looks way better. I think we got it dude we got ta push it your butt running, good, yeah good, oh god, anyways for a while all right guys. So we turned into the intercoastal, which is there's basically a land: it's basically a gap in between the land right at the coast, so we're gon na try and ride the intercoastal see if we can uh find some because we're food, the crab feed out of us Out there so try this out see how it going to does 12 hours we're downtown sarasota. So far, so good guys, water is way smoother doing about 40 mile an hour feeling good, oh yeah, now we're making some time all right guys.
So i've been cruising there. Coastal we got about 100 miles until we come up on a split where we have to cut across the goal: cut the corner to get key wet, so we're going to ride, probably either coastal down to venice, which is about 30 miles from where we are now. So we're going to cut out the ocean there's a buoy down there that gives weather data. It looks like the ocean gets really calm, as today's developing we've been making more time than i thought it's been a couple hours, though all right guys.

We are about 70 miles from where we started and the boats are running excellent. We just fueled up because we thought we needed it. My boat only took about eight gallons chad's took about six, so i mean dude. The gas mileage is insane way better than we thought it was going to be.

Chad cut his boat off while he's pulling in, and just absolutely smoked the side of my boat you'll. Get that on these big brothers. If that's the only thing that happens, this whole ride we're good all right, so we've been taking the intercoastal, but there's red tides here: kind of nasty, we're gon na try and pop out in the ocean and see if it's smooth. Now it says: half a foot on the weather buoy so we'll see here the tortellino torpedo looks good.

That's a good looking boat dude! I know it's a no wait, though guys we're fighting the current, so we kind of have to make a way to get through here. Current is ripping. I got ta give chad a little bump. Better watch out, bud, put a dent in to do you in it all right, pull it back out out of the vanity.

Yes, oh, oh up, yeah. Basically, we took apart jet seats and welded together these holes and then put the jet load engines in them. It's rough though man, how where's the next inlet we're gon na go back on the intercoastal for a while all right, so this officer is giving us some direction. Super cool, guys, hope you're going south we're gon na.

Follow you perfect all right. His officers walked out. So we're gon na hop in behind now so 25 mile an hour. The boat is all right guys, so we're going to make it as far as we can on the intercostal in bad chads, it's nice and smooth in here we're making as far as we can, but then the intercoastal ends.

So the girls are going to pick us up we're going to enjoy the rest of our ride. We've got about another hour of driving to get into them. Bail, fishing, it's not worth it sucks. I really wanted to do it.

I really wanted to freaking pull it off. I mean dude. It would have to be like this out in the ocean, which is just like so rare yeah. I don't know if we're ever going to get that.

I think we still went like 150 miles or something like that. Though. That's pretty awesome yeah. If we were to try and cross the ocean and the pace we were going, we wouldn't make it till dark.
I mean we'd be pulling in in the dark crossing a pretty big fast here. It is a little violent just to go 30 miles an hour. We got a storm over here, getting wild out here boys getting wild, we're getting somewhere we're about 50 miles out from the program baby griffin, always making a statement how's it going. I don't know if i could jump another minute in my life, really isn't that bad! We got our butts kicked the entire time since we left, we have just been bow, bow bow.

I was so curious about that, because it's bad like chad will tell you still a lot. Don't lie it's a great time to be out of gas. I mean we got more, but there's no way we could have kept going like even just getting near the gulf. It was bad chatty how's it going it's going, it's just not physically possible yeah.

Do you think yours took it better? What the the waves? No? No! His took it way better. Yeah he's a little heavier about one foot longer. So oh man he's got the windshield. The windshield is cute when we left the skyway.

I was soaked in five minutes. Oh well, you did it yeah girl. What a rip all right! Let's see what you got, i don't think i've ever parked the boat on the trailer myself blow it up slow it up nicely done. That'll work, good job no way and that's the end of the trip.

I was trying to get him to pull him over here. Good thing we bought that paddle well brother. We we did technically drive to key west. The title said driving my vote.

Qs that i just wasn't actually driving the boat. I was on the trailer, we're driving it on the trailer all in all i mean we gave it a solid effort, we did about 150 miles and it was brutal. It was brutal. I mean we did not expect it to be anything like that.

We probably should have thought about it a little bit more, but that's what it is. The good news, the good news is both the boats are running and we have fuel left over for key west adventures. So are you guys ready for some key west adventures? Yes, we're ready to be there. Okay, so i know skiff is and then holly holly.

This is ready for some keyless adventure, so we're spending some days down here in key west. It is mini season and uh. That is basically a that's. Basically a short lobster season.

For us floridians, so we are going to go catch. Some lobsters on the boats. We're going to adventure around key west check it out, got ta say i'm a little disappointed that we didn't make it, but we had to make that call of either crossing the 90-mile stretch and getting in tonight at probably dark, because we could only go 20 miles. An hour, and that would have been about four and a half hours and uh.

I don't know man, it's probably not worth dying on dead loads. Today i mean maybe one day just not today, so we uh, i think we made the right call. We're cruising in the key west right now we're literally five minutes away. This is the last bridge until we are in key west, so we have lots of boating content coming at you guys this summer.
Boating content is awesome. We got so much drag racing coming up. It's kind of like one of the last big trips for the summer, but that's it for now, thanks for watching do it! For today, we'll freakin see you later, you.

That black boat you can make a thick plexiglass windshield for it . design it really sharp that it would look great …. design it kind of like the metal underneath it like shape wise . And mount it on top of the splash guard if its metal ….

You have the wrong type of hull for ocean fairing. Flat bottom boats don't work to well out in open water. Nice run though.

You should acquire 150 person TELB totally enclosed Lifeboat and do an insane engine swap maybe 1500 horsepower diesel engine

This is what happens when fools that only run in lakes don't understand that even if it's calm you have swell outside.

Heeeey, yoo, If we good ole boys get into some trouble it don't matter…. Them good ole Rescue people will come out and save us from being eaten by sharks….

Doing that trip and arriving in the dark would have been plain stupid, you made the right call to cut it short. That said, I think you should try that 90 mile stretch on its own someday. Making a big crossing like that on those tiny little jet boats is bragging rights for sure. Just pick your day carefully, don't go if you aren't feeling it, and no one who matters will think the accomplishment any less if you bring a more capable chase boat – something with enough space for all the people involved just in case something sinks 45 miles out. 😉

Key west has a lot of areas that you can’t use a jet boat in because they damage reefs. You’ll be limited where you can play.

You guys needed that beating before you went for the ocean crossing? I'm afraid if you started out at the 90 mile stretch you might have went for it, then halfway would have really regretted it!

I was laughing my ass off cause that's the kinda stuff I did in Seattle as a kid! I once crossed the Saratoga Passage between Camano and Whidbey Islands on a big inner-tube while fishing, no life jacket! lol.

Was smiling through the whole video. You guys are nuts! I'd think twice about a run like that in my 38' Cigarette Top Gun let alone flat bottomed 12' aluminum boats! Kudos for making it was far as you did.

Ya, dude, this was super ambitious and I could have called it… I live in Michigan and there's a 20 mile long peninsula that we were going to drive around… So to the end and back in a straight line is 40 miles… but you have to go around the entire thing, so probably more like a 60 mile trip… the water was so choppy, and we were in a normal Four Winns ski boat… we probably got 1/3 of the way into the trip and were like, "nah, this is going to suck for the next three hours of bouncing up and down the entire way. Hard pass"

Pretty cool wife and I are debating on getting a JetSki, but these two seaters seem fun for what we want to use and get out of it…

My friend and I took an 11 foot Boston whaler from Boca Raton, to Freeport Grand Bahamas. It took most of the day because of a bad weather report and 9 foot seas. We both had jello arms when we reached Freeport from non stop bailing.
