NEW MERCH JUST GOT POSTED!!! http://cleetusmcfarland.com
McFlurry's new engine needed just a few good upgrades before we slapped it in. This combination should work really nicely with some turbskis!

Hell yeah brother, you're on the please before on YouTube channel. All right. So with McFlurry on the lift and the cage done, the next step is to beef up the four-link suspension. These cars are all pinch welded sheet metal from the factory.

The lower torque box right here is known to rip out and the uppers will give you some problems too. So I went ahead and I cut everything out, drilled all these little spot welds and got it all yanked out of the way for you. And this is what's going in some tubular chromoly pieces. These are Uprs product line for this stuff.

This will go in like that. Well then that's our upper four link bars and then our lowers are these boxes right here and like so so that'll go up in there like that. We'll make it fit a little better obviously. and then we'll weld it all in and that'll be done.

And then the next step. Mini tubs. like I Cut all this junk out next. All right.

Foreign. So we got this stuff all welded in. We got our lower torque boxes and our upper torque box tube set up. all welded in, fully done.

On To The Next Step And the next step is wheel tubs. Mini tubs in this thing. Uh, we need to run a lot of tires. We're going to cut a lot of this out, push all of it back, and that will open up a world of possibilities for tire Combos and wheels, and that is where we're at now.

All right to get started on the mini tub kit: I Have to cut this stock stuff out so I Got to cut some of these brackets. This brace has to get cut out and then we will cut along the floor and clearance everything and slap the new wheel tub in. Weld it in and seam seal it. foreign Thank you thank you.

That looks a lot better. So now we got some Tire clearance by cutting all that stuff out I Have to fit the tub up in here, trim it, tack it in, and seam seal it and then I'll start chopping up this side and do the same. Thank you! All right! here's the almost finished product: I've got it all trimmed and fit and then I Went ahead and used some little tiny self tappers just to hold it in place so it doesn't move or Flex while I'm welding it in once I Spot weld this all in with a MIG welder. I will seam seal this entire Groove and those will get pulled out and they will get patch welded too so that we don't have little holes in there and this side is just about done.

Man, the underside of this car is starting to look pretty serious with some wheel tubs in there. we have tons of room for activities. We got all the tubes and all the strength to hold down the horsepower and get some big old tires under this thing. Well we got the rear end in there and we have a problem.

I'm gonna have to cut some more of this car out, just not gonna do it. so we gotta cut the wheel tub out. We'll pan bottom the car nice and flat up high and get all this out of the way. I have to add a bar for our coil mounts and for our anti-roll bar.

So I'm gonna get that bar in there today so that we could get this rear end out to Powder Coat. I have uh, two tabs that I have to weld on this rear end for the anti-roll bar I'm not sure exactly where they're gonna go yet I got to get this out of the way so I can figure that out so we're gonna do that right now. Foreign. So now that we have a big old hole in the floorboard and nothing in our way I can get the rear end where I need it and I can go ahead and swing this shock up into position and I can figure out where I need to weld our bar and tabs.
this bar is going to hold the shocks but it is also going to hold in our roll bar which I have over on the floor right here. So this is a Trz you build it kit and what it is is it comes with a tube that you cut to the length you need and then these Billet pieces get welded on and this is our bushing surface. Lets the tube roll and this right here. This bracket will get welded on that too.

Thank you. So these are going to fit now, right? Fit? No problem. Just raise it up and tuck it in there. How do you feel about how all this is coming out? Bias Of course.

it looks sick with the wheel and tire under it. Not the Uh 35s on the Raptor but looks pretty damn good. Are you about done welding on this thing yet? Yeah, we're actually really close and then we have to do the motor and then we won't be really close again. But then we'll do that and then we'll be really close.

Well let's go ahead and start working on this engine. All right guys, we got McFlurries Godzilla engine right here. As you guys know, this is a 7.3 liter Ford engine. This is exactly how they come except we have the intake off which the intake sits like that.

So so we got 7.3 liters of freedom in this setup and what we're gonna do before we stick this in McFlurry is do some basic stuff to it because I know we told you guys we're not going to go crazy Off the bat, we want to see what these Factory engines can hold. But in order for this push rod V8 to make some power, we are going to do a heads cam package on it. But we're gonna leave the rods Pistons the whole bottom end alone. So when we reach that certain number in boost it's probably gonna fold a rod and kick it outside of the motor.

but we'll cross that road when we get to it. So we got a whole set up a parts here. We'll start with our boys. Motion Race Course you know the deal.

So in here you got some hardware and we got an icon Throttle Body. Now what you're gonna see here on this intake. We're using the factory plastic intake. Throttle body is facing towards the moon.

Okay how are you gonna put your beautiful Motion Race Works Billet Throttle Body on there. face it at the moon. So what we developed at Motion Resource is a little Godzilla elbow so this all CNC Billet Look at the design on it too. I Know it's legit.

this Bolt's on right here. You'll see down here. We have what we like to call a jump throttle body drive by wires that doesn't fly here in our shop. So we do definitely do not need this where we're going straight from the trash.
We're probably gonna need different. Hardware But yes, straight in the trash where it belongs. this kid will probably put that on eBay and try and get some money from it. but get that out of there as hell.

ain't gonna use it. It's the one nice thing about Fords Everything's o-ringed even the runners. Yeah, they definitely four rings. Ford By far has the best performance aspect engineering.

you know? like they just make things simple to make fast. Yeah, they made it everything modular. Everything is its own. Yeah, you're gonna have to make it so hard, you know? and it kills me to say that because I'm a Chevrolet but stay over there Ty Just freaking make it so simple.

Oh the beauty. Oh yeah, Thai may end up switching this around. Man that looks so good. Who knows how much boost the plastic intake will hold? But I guarantee you we're going to find out no backfire's allowed.

Dude, one backfire. everything's done all right, so that's on there. We also have this quick seal clamp that will be putting on there that will go to our charge pipe which will go to our term skis. On to the next items.

We got these. We got these Drive sensors. We're going to be using this right sensor block like we use on all of our cars now. High speed data reliable and it's o-ring resist vibration and inaccuracies in your data.

We got some ripe stuff. got individual air temp sensor fluid sensors all right. So on to the engine side of things. We got some pictures Speed products in the house.

Check this out! Cletus Godzilla I'm gonna be honest, this was, uh, this was not planned until Texas Speed Hit us up and they're like, hey, we just came out with some Godzilla parts so we want you guys to try it out. Let us know what you think. Check out those good girls. Oh dude, this is the Ls head.

It looks like nah, dude. bored brother, Have you seen how thick the deck is on these bad girls? No thick, that's a meat right there. Yeah, that's our Achilles heels. vanilla.

So these are just hopped up heads for Godzilla right here. Look at that dude. CNC Milled Queen Oh wow, look at that. It is nice.

Better valves, better porting should make more power right off the rim. but your cylinder heads don't mean nothing unless you got a big old camshaft and we got one from Texas Speed Lslt. that's wrong. Cross that out.

this is Godzilla Parts Boys, that's how you know they're the same. That's how you know they're similar. That's how you know we're early. we're the first test.

Oh yeah, we're the guinea pigs. I Don't know if I'm supposed to show these numbers or not for the cam specs I think these might be more so for the tuner because it does say custom Godzilla cam. but I'll tell you this: this camshaft will open the valves and then close them in a certain amount of time. That's all it needs to be said.
Check the numbers touch. Let me see at the numbers. Is it going to open anything? It should open them. Carry the two squared.

Yeah, let's go make some horsepower. And then we got uh, some manten push rods here in. Texas Speed These look like some thick boys. It's kind of.

This whole engine is just kind of like a beefed up LS dude, look at that big old push rods I have a Ty's getting all weird because you've seen all this Ford stuff in the shop I don't know how to act. They sent us head bolts. They said don't reuse those stockies I was looking at though. this is like I think those are torqued to yield I Think the problem we're gonna find here is that these head bolts are gonna hold more boost than the rods can hold for sure.

and then we're gonna have a explosion. But you know what? That's what the people are here to see I Don't know what this is I think that's a cam phaser lockout. Oh is that what that is? Phaser delete? Yeah. the cam.

No more phase in our freaking Champion always. And then they included a socket and some Ford head gaskets actually Ford that's that's quality, right? They probably don't have aftermarket Godzilla head gaskets just yet. Well, they probably do. But yeah, yeah, here we are all right.

What do you think about that dude? This thing's Stouts All this being said, guys, Zach and I are about to tear down this Godzilla engine. You know, just at least the top end, which we've never done before. I've actually never, ever in my life taken apart a brand new engine, so this will be interesting. We'll dig into this thing, see how beautiful she is, and we'll show you in a minute.

Foreign. I've been waiting to see the inside of one of these motors for a while now before both didn't even get the action. I Know great young before they even saw a heat cycle 650 Fuller yesterday Harbor Freight 15 to get this off Saga Sometimes you'll always need the best. That's how I built my coyote.

Dude made a little extender all Harbor Freight it's about the operator dude Moment of Truth Whoa, It's pretty fancy looking in there. Boy tell you what, you can't look at the Pistons what the heck are they Factory forged. Those are Cnc'd man damn. Factory that's wild.

That's sick. All right everybody. get in on this. This is what the cylinder should look like.

We never get to see them. They've screenshots everybody. This is what may not look like this in a couple weeks forged. CNC Pistons Stock engine.

So cool. 25 pounds depends on the size of the turbos, but uh, 76 is 22 22 pounds. It depends what the rod looks like. Probably got aluminum rods in it already.

Yeah, it's gonna build. it runs same ones are in mullet. All right. that's pretty cool.

That is really cool. I am I'm impressed. Looks pretty similar as far as the stock head. You can actually visually see the grooves in this one though.
Yeah, from the stock surface, that is a way nicer fly cut speeds. Definitely a flat cut. Yeah if you look in the ports, oh yeah, there you go. This is where the big difference is just going on that one.

Those are just stock cast. look at the size. Different. larger.

Oh yeah. Oh yeah. that looks way better. Yeah, look how much bigger like that one's not.

Even even that's where you're getting that. Advantage with the Texas Speed stuff that was good, Would these heads have been fine? Probably. Well, these make more power. Yes.

Definitely more power. More power, Easier power, easy. Power is good. Healthy power.

What do we got going on here? Why is there a cut in between the cylinders? It looks like Ty cut that looks like a grinding. Yeah. the angle grinder little relief. Let's try this on the Ls's okay.

so there's a rumor I've only heard this from Jack stand that LS or LT lifters are the exact same. So we have a set of Johnson LT lifters. I Wouldn't be surprised I Don't know. this thing looks like it's got more bore spacing I Don't know why I'm saying this out loud but this looks like a evolved LS This looks like a better version of what we are always using.

Everything looks better. Look at these lifter tricks. this just look fancy. Oh yeah I don't know bro that looks just like one.

It looks just that looks pretty identical. I Got a set of Johnson lifters here. Best lifters game. t-bars Oh that might be a problem.

that might be a problem I mean that looks like the same diameter right? I Would have to throw some dial calipers on it and see but grab the dials. let's see what it is. Slider in there 8 40 and a half and a 40 and a half I Don't know if like the geometry or the depth would be any different but yeah that's a that's an interesting one and like I don't think you can run a d-bar we gotta roll the motor over. Yeah yeah it's stuck all right.

hold on let me go back. Yeah you can see it's just touch on the top there so let me let me ask around we can get some regular Johnsons that uh don't have the team yeah foreign we are not familiar with. Okay we got more than one chain. this is Two Chains This is scary.

balancing in there. Is that the oil? That's for the oil pump. so at least that doesn't have to be timed. What a special device you got there? What the heck? Dude, look at that.

Oh, it's expensive. multi-purpose They also use that in jet engines. Golly. All right, don't mess this up.

You got the lift yourself. Yeah, Oh, look at that double bearing on the front. there. look at.

that unit. looks brand new. We can sell it. Yeah, put that with the throttle body.

this is. uh. this cam just kind of feels heavier than a LS camp us second of smoothness. And last one, you just get the sledgehammer, knock every bearing back a quarter inch.
Let me just get like, uh, a bowl. I Know that's normally what we would do, which makes sense. Careful, there's some small threads inside that thing. Perfect.

Oh piece of cake. a little pry bar action. dude. All right guys.

Well, we'll put this sucker back together shortly, but you'll have to wait to see more. McFlurry is going together quick with all the ties fabricating. We got even more stuff laying out back here, but we'll update you when we get there. That's it for now.

Thanks for watching new for now. We'll freaking see you later. Foreign.

If I was watching any other channel I would be asking why I hear drag cars and friggin helicopters at the shop, but that's just another day at the Mcfarland Racing, Fabrication, Tuning, Engine Building, Aviation and Bald Eagle Breeding Shop. Love the fab and engine videos! I knew Tye was one hell of a TIG welder but he was so fast on MIG that I thought it was a timelapse!
