Hell yeah brother you're on the please be far on youtube channel time. For some goodies and a little bit of tlc on the uh good old ruby unit, we have to throw a better throttle body on it, which i already did. We threw a motion. Race works, icon, 102, with their tight 90 on there, that's going to help us get over the turbo a lot easier and a couple of the big things i want to change on it is the car never had a turbo support bracket.

The turbo was always just floating out in the air that caused us a lot of cracking and stuff like that. We're switching it up also from one wastegate to a twin wastegate setup, to try to relieve a little bit of the back pressure and get a little bit more control in the gates. We're going to throw one on this 90 down here and we're going to throw one right there and i'm not sure where those are going to plumb to yet we're probably going to keep the turbo roughly in the same spot, i'm going to lower it a little Bit more the car likes to wheelie, so i want to get the weight of that turbo as low as i can within reason, and still give it some personality that it always has had got a nice spiffy new turbo from precision. It's got a blanket on it, we'll open that up in a second we've got two of the new motion.

Race works, wastegate, 90. Flanges. These things are awesome. They make life so easy.

You cut your hole, weld them on they're cast stainless and they help prevent a lot of the cracking that you normally get when you weld on thin wall tubing and you put something big and heavy like a 60 millimeter gate or a 47 even on a another. Thin piece of tube and merge it, they tend to crack around the weld area just from vibration, heat differences, things like that, so that curates that problem and then the third thing that we're going to do is we are upgrading the turbo. We got another precision turbo here for it. I guess explosion blanket this thing blows up.
It'll keep contained, that's really important when you're running a turbo, this big with this much power that high out of the car. If this thing ever came apart for some reason - and we didn't have a blanket like that on - it would shoot shrapnel until it hit something. I mean it you'd, be surprised how far and fast that stuff can fly all right. We got our turbo support bracket, uh fabbed, up real quick.

It's a three bolt flange off the front of the head up to a maven mount on the bottom of the turbo, and now we have our turbo lined up to our new throttle body should be a lot cleaner, ran this way, so the next step being that We're going to run from that primary up to the bottom of the turbo. I have to take this flange bolt it on the bottom of the turbo, but this is an old flange. We had laying around bolt that to the bottom of the turbo and make our first 90 out all right. We got this thing all fully welded out.

We are ready to stick it back on the car. We're gon na put our wastegates on draw them up, drill them all out and then we'll reinstall this again on the car and weld the wastegates on the car. That way, none of this tubing warps when you cut into a tube on a radius, and you weld something in there. It tends to try to pull this radius out.

You do not want that to happen all right. I went ahead and slapped this piece back on the car and i scribed around the wastegate flange popped. It off got my black inside hole line, uh drawn out. So now i'm going to take a cut-off wheel, cut that i'll tack these on in place and then i'll go in there with a carbide bit and i will pour it all out and then we'll stick it on the car and final weld it and then the Hot side is officially done: bye, dude, these things weld so good.

I think that's worthy of a big old show, buddy those things weld amazing, dude, i'm so glad that they came out with that product uh. The next thing that's on the list is down pipes or dump pipes, dump tubes. Then i just have to jam out a little inner cooler piece right there, real quick with a blow valve on it, and then the last thing i have to do is weld the v-band on the backside of this guy, because we are gon na reuse. The up pipe brace yourselves folks, you're about to see some real freedom here, ty finished up the turbo kit on ruby and damn it's looking good check that thing out: dude: precision: 98, millimeter turbo: i ended up running the wastegate pipes up to this side of the Car which just looks so sick we're gon na fire, this sucker up make sure it's good to go.

We probably got ta. Do a test burnout in the parking lot. To be honest, so ruby is pretty much ready to roll out to the pri. Show she's got a couple things we got to fix up.
Zach is actually driving my truck and kevin's trailer with ruby and mullet in it. It's pri, so we got a little bag in. Here too, we got ta service, the truck you need some wiper blades and change the oil on this bad unit before it hits the road 33 000 miles on this puppy. So i mean we've had oil changes in between, but we're just doing one since the long drive making sure he's good to go all right, miss ruby, no funny business she's hitting me with the funny business already.

Oh, you know what i'm putting a rag over that exhaust. It's old sam spent too much time polishing this thing all right. Let's try this again gosh dang, ruby's, looking shiny, show car status sounds a little weird on that. Oh, my god.

It's not slow! It's spinning! I've never seen a turbo spin, so slow. It's such a big wheel. Oh we're, not charging. We have no alternator, we got no voltage, so we got ta shut her down for now classic change a bunch of stuff and then your alternator goes out.

Dang dude i mean it's, not the gates won't get hot until we take it out parking lot and we got ta warm them up a couple times got ta warm it up a little bit make sure the co2 is off. We don't want to send all the moon boost to it. That's some dark dark. Looking oil right there, nice and hot too.

That's the key before you take the truck you have to do the oil change on the truck. You got ta wash the truck hundred percent. I know it's gon na be looking good all right. This is for ruby and mullet dude fret fresh wiper, blades you're going to be chilling.

The only thing is no wiper fluid. We can't put water in it because it's going to be below freezing yeah all right attempt number three belt tightened: oh yeah, more table back fire me up dude. That was so good nice job all right. Let it do a heat cycle, we'll check everything over and then we'll do, step it yeah.

It's gon na take a little more spool time now, a little more spool time on the big girl there, no more bouncy turbo, though no more bouncy turbo and that's no boost controller so really if it doesn't have co2 the clothes that keep the wastegates closed. Now it's got two big wastegates: it's gon na dump all that air out and not give it to the turbo. So we won't know how fast it really spools until we get a co2 bottle in which i think we got one sitting over in leroy. Put that in hook the computer up try and make something happen: okay hold it yeah.

Let me adjust that just a little bit, yeah check that out a little bit more for some fire needs a little more than that. So what the heck after the lost rpm, just like it, was doing on race week. Oh man, didn't we put a new crank sensor in it yep. I wonder if it's the cam sensor then tap number two guys we got a new cam sensor, so it works.
Turbo works dude by the time i let off it was already going like it actually hooked a lot better than i thought it was so all right, we're dialed. We got the 98 working, let's load her up, all righty all righty, guys well she's in the trailer zach's going to pick up mullet in the morning. We will see you guys at the pri show thanks for watching, see you later. That's a motion.

Raceworks on the side, wow everybody, let's go wow; oh my god.

Remember way back when Ruby was the cheapest, 10 second or whatever, race car, even left the auction sticker on it for how many years/passes. Now look at her, full on race car going to be on exhibit at PMI, the junk car of the fleet didn't plan to even keep it, if I remember right, exhibit at PMI. Poor Leroy gets no love anymore, his younger siblings take all the glory!!!!

For you newer viewers, please go back and watch the Leroy videos, before it was caged, then exoskeleton-ed the multiple engine upgrades that's what started this channel, and to us older fans, it should have a little more respect. During that process you also will see the back story of Neighbor and ED. There is a lot of history here and I believe, after watching Garrett drive the SXS race, this kids going a long way behind the wheel. He seems to be good at any style of driving he chooses and it all started from a humble stripped down Corvette burnout car. That and working for 1320.

Just think, how far Ruby has come from sitting at the insurance auction with a 5.3 in her waiting to die. Now she is famous and has so much character. What a legend.

The jet truck has left the strip. ๐Ÿš€. Tye is a force to recon with when it comes to fabrication.
