We need you all to come out I Slacked now I'm hurting if you've always wanted to come to the Freedom Factory Now is your chance. Tons of tickets available, but let's get to the video. Hell yeah brother, you're on the please confirm YouTube channel. All right Listen guys, you saw the title. You probably know where this video is going and I want you to know that I Thought long and hard about this because I already have a love for this car and there's maybe a chance that we can buy it back at auction. But let me explain to you guys a little bit of why. I've decided to let the car go because the other day when we filmed this video, I was dead set on keeping old Crystal and repairing her. but in the past 24 hours things have escalated to even further levels as far as the car goes. So I'll show you just a couple things before we get into it. We pulled the motor out of the car as you guys saw in the last video and let's just just bring them in. Ty Bring them in on the good stuff. All right. The goods. This is primarily the issue, you know and we were excited. We were like, oh, we'll weld it back together. The block is broken and then this transmission case is spider web cracked. Actually, look at the side. You can shine on the side right here. Yeah, Yep, that's the inside of your transmission inside of the transmission. There's actually a huge piece of it somewhere. This is an actual chunk of the transmission and on the inside of the case is, you know, actual grooves that hold the transmission together, so welding it not an option. A lot of O-rings things like that and then on the tail shaft there's even a crack. Yeah, or is that guy? yeah. I Found this one this morning when we walked in. Yeah, just walking by so not really even sure how that one cracked. Yeah. Transmission 100 done. Engine block is broken and then up here you can see we got hairline crack on the front of the block as well and then you can see the cam gear is exposed on the head and the actual entire cylinder head is bent backwards. And that's just from comparing it to this side. where the crack is, you know, very tight. This side is like I can put my fingernail in there which yeah, that's supposed to be big old Gap no Gap no Gap So all that being said, the car could not have ran and drove like it's locked up in more ways than just the transmission. We got a little bit Bamboozled by the listing which is my fault because you can 100 go and look at these cars at the auction yard and check them out before you buy them. However, with the Porsche you got to bring some tools to give the car power through the fuse panel, then pop the hood, then put a jump box on the battery. That's all stuff we didn't bring but I had already bought it. So we're like whatever. let's take it back to the shop. I Knew there'd be some damage I didn't know the engine would be broken in half and everything be useless. There's not a usable part basically left besides the alternator and the starter and so I started doing some research. The engine on eBay a used 3.8 liter twin turbo engine out of a Porsche is about twenty two thousand dollars. Transmission is about twelve thousand dollars. That's a Pdk for a 991.2 Then we have a bad turbo. We don't have any of the charge piping like look everything is just broken. You have a crack here. You gotta blown out thermostat housing the return lines. The feed lines all blown out. This motor that does the rear wheel steer is blown out. Let's call that an additional ten thousand dollars just on the low side. So to get this thing just running and driving, it's forty thousand dollars just to get it running and driving. And that is if we keep it with poor stuff which is the only way this car will ever be competitive for what I'm trying to do the original Mission which is dominate spectator drags which one of these cars easily can do. So now we're talking 40 Grand worth of stuff. Just get it running and driving to go down the road. Who knows what other issues it has because there's stuff that's torn up in the interior and we are now in the realm of buying one of these cars in perfect good running condition with a clean title. So I would have to spend 40 50 Grand and have a car with a salvage title. So you know in the instance of Ruby where I bought her at the auction, she still ran and drove. There wasn't much I could do and that was only ten thousand dollars. This is far more expensive and after for all these issues just to get it running I could buy one of these in almost new condition with the same mile. so you know I like making Reckless financial decisions. this one is outside the scope of our ability to just waste money. You guys know we like to, you know, kind of send it and we plan on getting our return in the long run. This car is just way outside the scope of what we can handle as far as just financially sending it. That was a hard decision to make because we already love this car but she's just got to go back to the auction. So after I decided we didn't want to keep the car got in touch with Copart explain the situation, how it was advertised, runs and drives, but the drivetrain was so far away from actually being able to run and drive like it's impossible that they internally discussed and said that they can take the car back which is a normal instance at Copart if your car is truly undrivable to an extent this far and we documented it and we're able to prove that they are now taking the car back to the auction so we are putting it all back together the exact same way we took it apart and at that point I have no idea what will happen to Crystal. Hopefully she goes to the auction again and if I could buy her for like ten thousand dollars or fifteen thousand dollars, it might be worth it. But if there's any instance where I have over 75 grand in the car, it's just not worth it because no one will ever pay that much money for this car. you know, when we're done with it. So I Gotta say I'm pretty impressed that Copart is taking it back. I Didn't in a million years think they would because you know you buy cars at auctions and it kind of is what it is like. Just like in the Ruby instance, there was nothing I could do I just had to take her home. But because there was a discrepancy in the listing and what we actually got, they were able to do something about it. So the car gets picked up in a day. So the rest of the day Ty and Zach are going to stuff this engine back in and make it 99 you know, right back to what it was and I have no idea what the fate of Crystal will be. But maybe one day she'll pop back up at the auction again and we might be able to get her. But for now, she's no longer our problem. which in some ways I'm sad about because it's a great car but too much money guys. this one, this one hurt the pocket a little too much. so maybe we'll see Crystal one day in a few. Hey, Olson you want to go for the last ride with me on this thing? What do you mean? We're pulling the engine and trans out to be refreshed. Oh so I figured we'd take her to McDonald's get some like flurries or something. You know what? I mean I'm in all right. let's do it. We'll mullet going on the last ride with the old 540. not that it's hurt or anything. just uh, time to be refreshed. You guys know these aluminum rods. Over time they tend to stretch a little bit and if you just do too many heat Cycles on them, you'll end up with one going through the side of your block. So it's time the engine goes back to Steve Morris and it's time the transmission goes back to M M Transmissions They're all running like a dream. Oh bad week for mulling man, it's gonna be down for the count for a little bit. Probably won't be running until January A boy and hungry. Really? Yeah, we're going. Wow. Great! We're going foreign foreign so they still have breakfast I don't can I have a uh sausage, egg and cheese McGriddle and I don't even need seven and seven. Oreo McFlurries Wow, we don't have ice cream? What? I know it's not working. Let me just confirm I don't know. Destroy the ice cream. What's this salad? No shot there ice cream machine. This is a big deal I mean I need this McFlurry right now to like really make this special. At least bring it up there we go. I like it Okay What? Yes, regular and seven Oreo that was a close one. I Thought For a minute you were gonna say the ice cream machine was down again. Yes, Seven of them. Golly! what a What a roller coaster of emotions. No annoying noise. Unbelievable. This lady's definitely wow. They really what a mess. They really mess it's been in. What about five or eight minutes now? Yeah, they're making us wait for these new clothes. Okay, just take the machine on for sure. It just kicked it on. The old milk is still I Realized Mullet was in the drive-through They're like that's the World Cup Champion. Someone fire up the machines Fresh Cream Did the Oreo smash them up? Oh perfect timing. Thank you. Appreciate you. Perfect and we're off. Not a lot of gas in here, but we made it. Yeah, we're a little low on normal street gas. We did zero all right now. we're running really low on gas. We need time for a science video. Can you run an engine on a McFlurry Because that's all we got. Nice. The office do Uh oh brother. Oh yeah, we're out of gas. We are. literally. Oh let's go Bullet. Well, we made it. We made it low on fuel. All right guys. Boy Mullet, it's going down for a little bit and we're all gonna miss him. but he'll be back. He'll be back soon. He'll be better than ever. but that's it for now guys. Thanks for watching new for now. We'll freaking see you later! Foreign.

Are we sure you can’t add a small jet engine in the back of mullet? …maybe an APU?

I really was going to keep her but $40-50k to try and get it just running and driving is too much. Honorable of Copart to take it back. Hopefully this prevents situations like this in the future.
