So the Corvette has a parking brake that's operated by a little switch on the center console. I've always wondered what would happen if you pulled it while driving, so we turned on some cameras and found out! DO IT FOR DALE!

I came here to see what happens with the new parking brakes in cars when you pull them while driving in an emergency situation where your normal brakes fail and the fact that you can’t use the parking brake to stop an out of control vehicle now is scary I definitely would not want to drive any vehicle that has an electronic parking brake unless there’s an actual hand brake to use

I just bought a new 2023 Silverado with an electric parking brake. The owners manual does not tell how it works, just how to check the brake. I looked under the truck at the rear calipers and saw a black plastic mechanism on top of the disk brake caliper, probably to depress the piston.

It probably has an electric motor in it. I am wondering if a brake line leaks and you lose brake fluid if the emergency brake will still work.

My old Silverado had rear disk brakes with special rotors. The rotors had the traditional brake rotor part on the outside edge and also had a drum brake part built into them closer to the center. Imagine a brimed hat, where the brim is the rotor and the hat part is the drum brake part. The drum brake part of them is for the parking brake and is cable operated.

At less than 5 miles an hour it locks the wheels and you come to an immediate stop. What I wanted to know at higher speeds which I was not about to try in my Honda Accord, would it come to a skid by locking the rear disks which is extremely dangerous or just engage an extremely fast deceleration without skidding.

When driving off from a drive thru ATM, I pulled it accidentally thinking it was the window control ( my previous vehicle had the window controls in middle) I was going like 10 mph the car made a hard stop, tires squealed , after that I always wondered what would happen if I was on a highway.

Single use brake… Funny. In my Audi A4 I can do that multiple times. Car just breaks with rear brakes.
