All right well guys, welcome to the First Full scale Mcfron Aviation video on the channel to give you guys a little bit of background about three years ago I went for a flight and a Cessna Skyhawk with a friend of mine and I had never been in a small plane really before and I tried to fly it and I got my butt kicked and it really irked me that I didn't know how to operate this vehicle I've always been able to jump in anything and drive it and you know, really, just rip it and have fun. But not aircraft, you know. aircraft are just a totally different ball game and they're very difficult, very complicated, and they're only as safe as you make them. That being said, once I flew in that airplane I decided that I needed to get my pilot's license and since that video, I have been using any and all of my spare time countless hours studying through the night to get my helicopter license, my fixed wing airplane license, my multi-engine airplane license I went ahead and got my instrument ticket as well I've taken float plane lessons not done with that one yet and then I just recently got my tail wheel endorsement which you're gonna see is a requirement for the airplane that I'll be flying in today's video immediately.

when I got into Aviation I realized it wasn't something that I could just film and put on the internet. I've been taking it really seriously because safety matters more than anything with aircraft. It's not like you just break down and pull over. You break down and then you have to fall out of the sky and find a place to hopefully land.

At one point I decided that I was never going to post any Aviation content because I was just so worried about dealing with the Cairns of the internet and people reporting me to the FAA. But when I recently picked up the airplane you'll see in today's video, it changed everything because not only is the world of general aviation so amazing, this airplane is one of the most fun things I have ever been able to Pilot or drive. it is just the most fun thing ever! Although I love helicopter more than anything, this airplane is just incredible and I think you guys are gonna love it. So as a pilot, most of my hours are in a helicopter, but my airplane hours are getting ready to pass my helicopter hours.

I did a lot of training in a Cessna Skyhawk I did a ton of training in a Beechcraft Baron which is a little twin piston engine plane and then immediately when I got my fixed wing single engine I started training in a turbo prop called a Pilatus Pc12 and that's like the most amazing airplane of all time. So obviously all the guys in the shop know that I've been flying a lot. I've taken so many exams and check rides and they've been around a lot while I'm studying and things like that, they've been in planes with me, helicopters with me and up until this point we've had to kind of just keep it. You know, on the down low it's not a secret, but it's just on the down low.

We're pretty excited to share this with you. Luckily, my good buddy Mike Patty purchased the Rip saw which made the funds available to make this airplane purchase happen. I Think you guys are gonna love this. This is a whole new chapter.

So exciting when we show up here because every time it's a great surprise they think it happens. Anything it happens especially shows up all right. So guys, what we're going to be doing today. It's a little unique.

anything comes out of a hard case is not cheap. So all right so you see Fpv drone but this is not what's gonna be flying today. However, I am going to be flying it with some goggles. Okay, nice, but what we're going to be doing is you guys are going to stay here and I'm gonna go off property and fly the aircraft to you guys.

Oh so all you got to do is sit here and wait and I'm gonna come in and be ripping. Wait where are you? How are you gonna see the plane? Where are you gonna do? I'm Gonna Fly it over there through these goggles. Oh what? That's what Fpv is. He's only using the goggles.

Oh so he's looking into that flying that I will be on goggles I won't be here. Okay, can you? uh, those look insane? The problem is there's a little bit of a delay between these. the easier you know at a distance, but it's it's pretty good. I'll I'll get on the phone with you.

Yeah yeah. I'm gonna call Alan when I'm pulling in. so our aircraft that we will be using today is in the bed of Alan's truck. Are you gonna try to land it? Uh, we probably will land it over here just because I'll be.

just brace yourself this morning flybys. that's all I can say when you're on goggles golly dude. it's scary when you're standing right next to me. Georgia was nice knowing you.

but I think today is the day you get taken out film and aircraft I know not to stand by a traffic cone. Yes, well all right guys, we're fixing to go surprise the boys with the carving cup. All right taking off out of my house. So I'm gonna go over the lake and I'm gonna get real low and then I'll pop over those power lines to the north of you if you want.

You can tell George be like all right he's getting ready to take off. keep the camera pointed towards the North Okay, all right Point your camera to the north. he's coming in from the north because of the wind. Good coming in from the north I See a bird over there watch it zipper like a he said point the camera North over the barn.

he's gonna come from the other side of us I'm guessing I'm guessing he'll be just east of the barn. but I I Don't know. Get surprised. Yeah from Bmp's uh oh my God Oh my gosh, that's a remote control plane.

This is the biggest remote control plane there is. Oh my. Atlanta that thing is not small. That's because it's not ours.

Okay so he definitely didn't launch that from the from the shop. Then he went to the track. Oh my. God Oh my gosh, dude.

Sick. You could literally get inside. Is he inside of that thing? No. Is this a joke? Oh dude.

What the heck. dude, he's inside there. He's def that's a real plane. Oh guys oh my.

Landing was so bad. dude. Little cubsky. Doodle That's right.

this is a cub, but more specifically a carbon. Cub It's high performance and super lightweight. and it's the same airplane that you saw in last week's viral videos where Red Bull landed their airplane on top of a super tall building's helicopter pad and this guy right here is Mike Patty my friend who built the airplane that Red Bull used in that video and he's the one who got me this carbon Cub Making all of this possible. No carbon tub Dude Brother: No way brother one dude.

My worst. Landing Gosh dude, that was so sick. Well guys, you know how I sold the riffs off. No shot dude, that's awesome I Wanted to be money for the camera but I just got excited.

It looks so much like an RC plane you're coming in. We're like is it real? Sounds like it's the world's biggest. I'm like what? dude, this thing is legit. So this is legit.

Dude, there's a lot of carbon. it's the carbon Cub I was hitting up uh Mike Petey you know I was like Hey I want to get an airplane from the channel and he's like hey, I really want your rips off So we made a deal dude. So yeah, I mean this. This obviously costs about half a rip saw.

So we got some money in the bank and we got an airplane. Dude, this is awesome. That's pretty sick. 31s on this unit.

31 inch tires, handbrake flaps. see that? Oh nice. Yeah, look at that. 180 horsepower under the talons of this thing.

Check out the carbon feet. Lots of carbon feet. Yeah dude can take off in like 50 feet. So the headline today I mean it's like right up in the air.

Obviously you can land. It Anyway Everybody's Landing So cool. two acre three acre field I Don't know I Was looking for something different I wanted to change it up and so I was like screw it let's get a carbon cub and then you guys can get your Pilots license in this thing. It costs nothing to fly.

All you gotta do is put fuel in it and pay Joe to come teach you. It's like it's just the coolest little plane ever. So I've been I just got it. I've been practicing a bunch I didn't bounce my Landings but obviously came in here and bounced it.

You just landed in like a legitimate 100 feet in a field. Yeah yeah, it's crazy. It lands it. It's like a helicopter.

almost. It almost is. You can go anywhere so you know it's just. it's just a freaking Beast Yeah man.

check that out. Joystick flight controls. longest time. it was just growing.

Dude, it's freaking incredible. You got the back seat. that's where your instructor sits if you guys get a plan. Oh sure.

got the titles. brakes look how the brakes are built into the wheels. Pretty pretty sick. Oh yeah, we can get some Tvms on there.

Yeah dude, this is wow. It smells really good too. We got some uh, nice storage space back there was winding. True North Little treat dude.

super nice. So this is a 2015 and I Bought it off of an older fella who just used it a couple times a year. has like 50 hours on no way. Holy Talia It's brand new I mean it feels looks, everything's pretty much new.

You could have told me it was it 23 new unit I would have believed yet. yeah I looked at some you know like older 2000s ones which are great but Mike Patty who bought the rip saw found this one. He was like dude it's mint it's an amazing price and I was like all right well then I'll just do this one buy a nicer one. If we're all gonna be flying around in it we might as well have one.

low hours if you're gonna have a cup. It's gotta be yelling too. It's like be perfect. it's it's the carving job.

it's like the look dude it's so awesome he wants to go for a ride I mean I definitely want to go for a ride. Yeah how you feel back there you good? Oh I Feel like a million bucks I'm laying in a hammock, laying in a hammock. Isn't it crazy how this thing has suspension and stuff? Dude, it's honestly super smooth right now that Landing was bad but I had worse and it just takes it. It's just a beast because there's just something so nostalgic about Tail dragons and that is best in class at this time.

Oh yeah, just safety, reliability, liability. It doesn't get places super I mean carbon Cubs are like the longest standing name I can think of in that deal. Yeah, yeah. and this is Piper Cub Was that yellow? Yeah, dude.

this is freaking awesome. Yeah, Go ahead and grab the stick. Bud: Oh I got it. You got it.

Rip it dude. Pull her up. Oh, she's super. It's so easy.

It's just super simple to fly this thing. All right. Let's go left, pull back as you turn. You got it, Brother: Oh yeah, you got to kind of catch it kind of early.

Brother: I'm flying a plane. Holy hell, you got the stick too, right? Yeah. I'm with you Bud. You're doing great though.

All right, and we'll take a left and go over to the lake. That's the throttle on your left if you want to move it around. Okay, buttered that one. He's super smooth on that one.

Brother: What the heck, we're out here airplaneing brother that was so freaking sick. Go ahead. respect that prop. Yeah, 900 pounds.

cleaner said this thing weighs. That's insane. It's like 9.70. Yeah.

I mean this one doesn't have about 900. this doesn't have much. Pizzazz No autopilot or anything. so she's It's pretty light, which is good for stuff like what we're doing today.

Heavier gets unless it performs. Oh, we need that performance. Yeah, all right, let me clear the runway here and even the hand started. Are you good? Alan is turned hard before you got on it so it was perfect.

yeah the weight left though if you want. Yeah, this thing does fly really nice. Oh yeah, how's it trim? Let me let me feel sick for a sec. There you go.

I tripped it for you. should be a little easier to hold now it's just a cruiser brother. Oh yeah. I mean I have no idea what I'm doing.

but I'm doing it. Yeah, that's got to say something. Yeah. I mean it's super easy.

like it's almost bulletproof. You got the throttle right here on your left. Oh okay, that's pretty cool. I Like that.

There's a lot of response in it. Yeah, it does exactly what you want. Isn't it crazy how short it takes off? Dude, it is insane. Oh yeah, we got some wind.

We want to turn towards the field. now. you go straight for a little bit. we'll go over the lake and then we'll turn back.

But you can descend if you'd like get some power back. Now that'll kind of pull you around. Hey, was that Rudder or just throttle? That was just throttle. Wow.

that thing really does rotate. Yeah, this thing is amazing. Dude ready? I'm gonna give you your first Notch of flaps. All right.

Gotta Throw Everything off? Oh yeah, you got to push forward into it, huh? Is that roughly the approach you want? Hey good noses. down a little bit more. There you go. This thing is so cool dude.

that's so awesome. That is so cool. Definitely cooler than the B2 I Think it's like the pre-runner of uh yeah of planes. It's awesome.

I Think it's safe to say either of you could fly it. This is definitely the coolest thing you've ever bought. Way cooler than the Rip Saw. Start saving our money.

We could go half Seas on one of these things That doesn't really lose its value the more time you put on. As long as it stays nice, it's it's gonna forever. Pretty much be worth what we paid for it. We scratch it.

We can just whip up a new piece of carbon. We'll be solid. I Mean to fly? Is it? Brooksville Where you live, it would burn like maybe six or seven gallons. I Guess that's less than the ultimate.

About three times in the Ultimate? man? No, yeah, that's the last thing you want to catch. a speeding ticket is it is not fast. How fast can it go? Or let's say what's cruising speed? like? The peak speed is 140 140 miles an hour. Oh dude, but that's like in the dive.

Oh okay, you're wide open, straight safe. Cruise Oh safer. not a red line. mile per hour.

Oh okay, that's solid. It's like 85 minutes. Yeah, like 80. You could probably cruise at 85 knots, no problem.

If you wanted to get after a little bit more, you could, uh, go up a little bit higher. I Honestly, this is kind of like the rip someone away because I have no idea what we're gonna do with it. yeah to make content, hopefully not a couple and then sell it because I think it's awesome. This is a light sport so you only need 20 hours to be licensed in it.

Oh geez. I'll probably tell you guys a little bit more than that, but if you're just paying for fuel in Joe's time, yeah it's not that much and you guys you know could be licensed Pilots That's awesome. I Think that'd be really cool if we could all kind of, you know, burn my race car. Yeah so it's a really cool toy and you know, getting rid of the rips I was awesome but this is this is a really I don't know.

it's just so cool I could see us having this forever. That's what I Like to hear one issue. nowhere to put it I have nowhere I was thinking that when you were up there I'm like where's it gonna Park this I have nowhere to put it I have it literally I Had it tied up in my backyard today and like that's just so how easy the wings pop off right? No oh no no okay I mean you could take it apart and get the wings right. It's not like an easy time.

you need a 34 foot door somewhere. So I'm working on a building at the track with the Chambless guy. see if we get something put together a little hanger. I was like yeah Miss opportunity to buy it so no, you can't turn that down.
