But here's the deal. You know those 10 speed transmissions that are super awesome. We blew this one up you know on Black Friday I Was driving the truck around and I started to notice this kind of loud whining noise. foreign. So I sent a video to some friends and they're like yeah, you know sometimes these 10 speeds start to do that could be okay, could be a problem and then later in the day I was trying to film an Instagram video and I floored it and instead of the truck going really fast went to the rev limiter which is real bad. Oh yeah, no, just driving the old giveaway truck to work today so not sure which gears it all took out but I went ahead and got the truck back to the shop, parked it and I hit up the guys from Lund who tuned the truck because I figured they know best if they were around. When this truck went a 960 a couple years ago, they probably know the 10-speed game pretty well and they got me in touch with Midnight Performance out of Texas who apparently builds transmissions for these trucks I was talking to them. they're like, well, we could get you a pump for this thing and a couple other parts and that could fix it up and I was like, you know what dude I just would love to have the biggest baddest transmission you can get for this thing. So come on over. Yonder So as you guys know, the truck had a built 10 speed in it, but it was built. you know, a couple years ago when these trucks kind of started going fast. So you know Technology's come a long ways. So instead of band-aiding the 10 speed that's in the truck, we have a brand new 10 speed that Midnight Performance puts in 1500 horsepower trucks. That should be a massive improvement over what we had just went ahead and ordered the whole transmission. Instead of trying to take guards apart, put it back together. We got brand new one right from the source and then he was saying the converter might be hurt and I was like brother, you know it's got a Circle D converter in it now I was like brother, if you got a converter, I'll just take it. So we have a brand new Circle D converter right here and a brand new 10-speed automatic transmission that we're putting in the truck today. Fresh units. So I apologize for you know, hurting the giveaway truck. but what am I supposed to do? Not rip the thing. You know you guys want to see it rip. So we have a bunch of plans to roll race it this week against the C7 but it broke. but luckily Midnight Performance got this transmission whipped up super quick for us. Got here. we're putting in the truck today and then hopefully it'll be running in just a few hours. I mean that just looks real nice comes through and out of these holes. Oh for locking that, we're up. Dang. Jam Flew in there and it locked up this nice stuff. The F1 smoke is gonna be back up and running here in a few. So a couple other things we found while we're under here. This thing's got now aftermarket driveshaft and we kind of knew that, but uh, it's just good to get a look under here. We realized where the exhaust can slip together. They had welded it so we couldn't get the exhaust out of the truck. so we're going to replace that with V-bands in case anyone has to service it in the future. But other than that, we just kind of checked everything out. It all looks good. Jackson Just got the converter bolts out. We'll be sliding this thing back here in a minute. That's a big unit. James It's not small. that is not small. I think the size of an Allison Yeah, it's huge. literally. Well, it's got 10 speeds in it brother. It's got a whole bunch of something in it. Yeah, Magnaflows brother. you blew out the Silver truck. What'd you do? Oh I turned it up and race to F1 smoke them and never turned it back down. Turn it up to the red zone. So then this past weekend I had five pounds of oil pressure I'm like damn you in these trucks bro, it's the rods. Me and the rods were just like North and South all comes to the F-150 Ultima is running good great Ty How are you feeling on the start of the McFlurry Mustang So far so good. right now working on a 750 cage, we're doing a 750 cage in it skipping 850. I Mean we could say we're gonna build a car and only go away 50s, but the odds are we're gonna go seven fifties. All right. So you're just going straight for the 7-5 cage. Yeah! so I'm doing the tedious part right now, which is all the tubes under the car? Yeah, let's take a look under here. it's like a gander what you got going on? We've already got this tube in got a little Bend for our drive shaft clearance and right now I'm clearancing the frame rails right up by your head. Yeah, and that is far too right there. Okay, uh. so once that tube goes in. Oh yeah, wow. We're gonna have a rocker tube that comes right down the side on the pinch weld. Yep. and then we're gonna have an inner frame rail tube that has to run basically with the tunnel. Cross all that out. Yeah, and then it'll get a tube under your seat and then a couple diagonals down here and an X brace under that So dang brother. A lot of floor tubes. I'll tell the people this. the transmission we're getting. Not very big, not very big, not very big. really small transmission. It's all I can say for now. transmission really small. That's all. I Got to say do we want to show them the rear end we got for this bad unit? Yeah, Is this our McFlurry parts pile? I mean you guys seen how this thing works in Leroy 106 60 foot. You can see she's just beautifully fabricated together. Tin Soldiers has been pretty awesome to work with. And what are these spindles? Dude, look at these. We got some spindles from Innovative Racecraft here. Gotta love some beautiful shocks. Nothing better. Ever since our switch to Mansca last year, we've been real happy with the way our suspensions have been performing. Way more predictable. Yeah, that's nice to have long boys. Sweet them things are sexy. Look at that unit. Dude. Yeah, the Mustang's gonna have all the hook. Yeah, so Fox Bodies by themselves already hooked. Really good. We're doing them freaking bad to the bone suspension on it with Minsker so that thing is gonna rip. That's a serious front strut right there. Yeah, it is. Things beefy. This is a a good solid component right here. Some fine strange axles. beef dogs. damn bro. look at them things. I Thought this was a budget Bill Well I mean listen. I'll be Budget on the engine part. but I hate breaking drivetrain components. Oh I know there's nothing more. There's nothing worse than just breaking an axle or something stupid. So we build. We build the rear end and axles and drive shaft to the max around here. Look at that rig. Oh that's a beefy. That's a beefy unit. Very serious. so that all go in this rear end. we got to get this powder coated. Maybe you guys can decide on a color in the comments below, but uh, we'll get that powder coated up. Some of this stuff will start going in the car pretty soon. but but you really got to get that roll cage done first. I Suppose a lot of cage work we got to get done. Transmission gets here in a couple weeks. yep and then we'll be rocking around. Sick week is the goal that's early. February I'm excited for the turbo kit.
